About Us
The history of Transport Continental, Inc. (TCI) dates back to 1956 when Jimmy Cowart came to South Texas driving a truck. In 1980, Jimmy Cowart and his son Jim Cowart devoted the next several years to logistics and transportation business processes that would later become essential to the founding of TCI.

Jimmy and his son Jim founded Transport Continental, Inc. in 1989, with a fleet of three trucks and ten trailers. It was not until the year 2000, that Jim Cowart assumed the leadership role, and contributed to the high success of the asset-based full-service freight transportation company (TCI).

TCI offers International and Domestic transportation services within Mexico, the United States, and Canada. TCI specializes in Dry Van, Flatbed, Step Deck, and over-dimensional freight movements. There are physical locations in Pharr, TX, and Laredo, TX, which provide a variety of storage, cross-dock, trans-loading, and maintenance services.

Differentiation driven by quality processes segregates its business group from most transportation providers. Senior Leadership drives a quality interdependent culture throughout the organization. Customer Service is a Core Value, supported by a team of qualified and trained drivers controlling one of the newest fleets on the road. The concentration of these strengths provides TCI with the ability to sustain long-term partnerships with a large number of midsize and Fortune 500 companies.
